Russian Reading: Lulu the Cat

A short story for beginners about a sleepy cat named Lulu.

When I was a little girl, I used to love watching a neighbor’s cat in our yard. She spent most of her day sleeping in the warm sun, but the moment anyone brought out a small toy or a treat, she’d instantly turn into the most energetic little creature. Today’s story reminds me so much of those cozy childhood memories. Grab your tea, listen to the audio, and let’s practice reading together!

Кошка Лулу

(Lulu the Cat)

У Ра́ды есть ко́шка. Ко́шку зову́т Лулу́. Лулу́ лю́бит спа́ть. Она́ спит у́тром, она́ спит днём и она́ спит ве́чером. Но одна́жды Ра́да спра́шивает: «Лулу́, ты игра́ешь?». Лулу́ открыва́ет глаза́ и говори́т: «Мяу! Коне́чно!».

Ра́да берёт ма́ленький си́ний мя́чик. Ко́шка пры́гает на пол и начина́ет игра́ть. Снача́ла Лулу́ бе́гает о́чень бы́стро, а пото́м ло́вит мя́чик ла́пами. Ра́да смеётся, потому́ что Лулу́ о́чень смешна́я и акти́вная. Сейча́с ко́шка совсе́м не хо́чет спать.

Пото́м Ра́да идёт на ку́хню. Она́ берёт вку́сную еду́ и кормит ко́шку. Лулу́ ест о́чень бы́стро, потому́ что она́ проголода́лась по́сле игры́. Ко́шка говори́т «Мяу», что зна́чит «спаси́бо».

Ве́чером Ра́да и Лулу́ отдыха́ют. Ра́да чита́ет кни́гу, а ко́шка спит у неё на коле́нях. Ра́да и Лулу́ замеча́тельная ма́ленькая семья́.
